Since I was a girl crawling through the grass on the lower slopes of Tunnel Mountain in Banff flowers are beauty, medicine and inspiration. What we call weeds are often powerful plants which have moved into the neighbourhood to repair and restore. In this way nature is always balancing what is disturbed and damaged. I photograph plants in the wild, in gardens, in wasteland—wherever I find them.
