Wolf willow grows along waterways and damp areas in the prairies, foothills, and valleys of the Rockies. In spring its yellow flowers emit a scent so lovely, so breath-inducing you stop in your tracks looking for its source. I lived in a house in Banff for many years with wolf willow growing nearby before I discovered the source of the divine spring fragrance, so tiny are its flowers.
