In an image from long ago my brilliant poet friend, Jon Whyte, sits in contemplation at the summit of Numa Pass in the Canadian Rockies. This landscape was glacially carved. Numa Pass is one of the passes along The Rockwall which stretches for many miles in Kootenay National Park. It is reached by trails cut up valleys or by following the long ridge walk over passes and through deep valleys.
