Many freshwater streams join the ocean along Juan de Fuca Trail. The ocean surges to meet this fresh influx of water where life of ocean and land mingles in these shallow waters. In the distant past, before they were humans, our ancestors left the sea to walk on land. Somewhere in our DNA, in our tribal instinctual memory, the sea still calls us home.
